How to exercise the Best Price Promise (the “Guarantee”)
1) The Guarantee applies to the cost of a whole system (e.g. panels, inverter and battery) including installation. The price to be compared is net of any rebate or cash back offers.
2) The panels quoted must be of a similar quality. Namely: a. Power/panel wattage (i.e. ± 10w)
b. Size (i.e. ± 3% - as standard residential panels are a smaller format than commercial panels)
c. Panel efficiency (i.e. ± 0.3%)
d. Equal or longer product warranty and performance warranty e. Temperature coefficient – ( ± 0.3%), i.e. how much panel output drops per 1 °C above 25 °C
f. Same technology (i.e. Back Contact technology is different from TOPCon). See information here: ABC vs TopCon panel technology
g. From a tier 1 manufacturer. These are available here: or from SEANZ (website)
3) The inverter quoted must be of a similar quality. Namely: a. Rated AC output – within ± 5%
b. Maximum DC input – within ± 5%
c. Equal or longer product warranty
d. Same number of MPPT trackers
e. Inverter type (e.g. battery-ready hybrid, string v micro) 4) The battery must also be of similar quality. Namely:
a. Battery Type – AC or DC coupled
b. Usable Capacity – within ± 10%
c. Power Output – within ± 10%
d. Equal or longer product warranty term
e. Equal or longer cycle/throughput warranty
5) Whether a system is of similar quality, will be determined in Harrisons’ sole discretion.
6) The system and installation must comply with NZ electrical standards (including AS/NZS 4777 (Grid connected inverter requirements) and AS/NZS 5033 (PV array installation).
7) The price match must be made within 30 days of accepting your proposal and compared to a current and written quote from a local installer who is SEANZ Solassure accredited for your property (i.e. not a generic price for an installed system). The quote must be capable of acceptance and installation within 3 months of the date of the quote.
8) The comparable price must include installation, commissioning, monitoring setup, Code of Compliance (“CoC”) and Record of Inspection (“ROI”).
9) This Guarantee excludes systems offered from liquidation or clearance sales.
10)This Guarantee excludes products not provided through official distributor channels, e.g. parallel imported products (which do not hold local warranties).
Workmanship Warranty:
11) Harrisons warrants that the installation of the Products will be free from material fault or defect for a period of 10 years from the date of completion of the original installation (“Workmanship Warranty”).
12) Where the installation of the Products does not comply with the Workmanship Warranty, Harrisons will, at their discretion and cost, remedy the relevant defect.
13) The Workmanship Warranty excludes any manufacturer faults or defects, normal wear and tear, any latent defects to the roof or property that were not disclosed prior to the installation, minor cosmetic damage from the installation, performance issues caused by shading, grid limitations, or electricity supply issues, damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, failure to follow instructions, any changes in regulations after installation, consequential or indirect damage (such as repainting or loss of energy savings), any fault or defect caused by a third-party or any damage from events outside reasonable control, such as an extreme weather event, pests or building movement.
14) Any claims under the Workmanship Warranty must be made within the warranty period and notified to Harrisons immediately upon the Customer becoming aware of the fault or defect. Failure to immediately notify may contribute to and cause further damage which may result in the exclusion of the fault or defect from the Workmanship Warranty and our liability. Where immediate notification of a fault or defect not practical or reasonable, then the Customer must notify Harrisons within 30 days.
15) Harrisons’ obligations under the Workmanship Warranty is subject to the Customer’s reasonable assistance to diagnose and remedy the fault or defect otherwise Harrisons’ costs may not be covered. Costs associated with scaffolding, access equipment or special site requirements (for any reason) are the responsibility of the Customer and such costs are not covered by the Workmanship Warranty or specific Product warranties from the relevant supplier.
