Why Solassure matters to Harrisons Solar

Anyone can call themselves a good solar installer.

Far fewer have had someone independent check whether it is true. That gap matters, because solar is one of the biggest purchases a household will make and one of the hardest to compare fairly. When quotes, warranties and projected results are all explained differently, it is harder to know what is actually being offered and who to trust.

That is the gap Solassure is designed to close.

It is a certification backed by SEANZ, the Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand, and it includes an independent assessment of technical competence, installation quality, business practices, customer service, financial stability and a set of standards that certified installers must abide by.

That matters because we believe going solar needs to be simplified and should be done right.

A certification like this helps set a clear baseline around how solar is installed, explained and backed up, including minimum standards for product and installation warranties and a more consistent way of presenting the benefits of solar.

Harrisons Solar is Solassure Certified

Why we support it

Harrisons Solar has been part of New Zealand’s solar sector for 15 years. Over that time, we have seen how important it is to establish solar’s credibility with kiwis; especially given that in the energy sector there are a number of competing views on the best way to power Aotearoa in the years ahead.

We have long believed there should be a fair baseline across the industry: sound warranty standards, responsible communication, and a clearer way for providers to present solar so kiwis can make informed decisions with less confusion.

As solar keeps growing in New Zealand, that matters more. Solassure helps lift expectations around quality, clarity and accountability, and that is good for the sector as a whole as well as the households choosing solar for their home.

What it means at Harrisons Solar

Our support for Solassure sits alongside a wider commitment to “doing the job properly”, and to giving customers confidence in what happens after install too.

As part of that, our Family Promises include a 10-year workmanship warranty, twice as long as the requirement of 5 years of the Solassure programme.  It reflects Harrisons’ commitment and confidence to deliver to the highest standards.

It also reflects the role our Harrisons Solar business owners and install teams play in looking after Kiwi homes with reliable service, before, during and after the work is done.

For us, Solassure is about helping keep standards high and making solar simpler to compare. We want people to feel clear about the information in front of them, and confident that the provider they choose will stand by the work.

We’re right behind it!
